The Drowning

Alex Mascarenhas's picture

Hmm...  I like your walk, I love watching it
The thickening’s on, the ticking is down
Tick-tack... tick is green; tick-tack... tack is brown
Look, you close your eyes, I open your mouth
You twist in my mind, I twist you around
I’m high as a kite, you fly in your gown
Your shadow was dancing, the shade was so cool
The light was not blinding, the dance is downtown
I know not what I say, that is my renown
I’m your sweet prisoner, yet I am what I want
Your warm juice sets mine free, I am glad I will drown
Take me not for a fool – what I wear is a crown
