Silent City

Brianna Louise's picture

I sit, gaze and listen out my apartment window

As the sun sets

I hear birds chirping

Sirens blaring

Children playing

And loud busses speeding by

To the right is the Hollywood sign

Down the center, the sun setting

With bright pinks and orange

And to the left, a cathedral that shines with purple light by night

A tower beside it so green it's like the emerald city

And here I sit

Watching helicopters fly by

Dogs barking in the distance

And children running to the ice cream truck

I'm just one small "bloop" in this big city

Hoping someday to make a difference

And in the mean time

Enjoying these noisy

Yet peaceful and silent times as the day winds down

As the city goes home
