The End of the Week in Me
Dazzlingly authentic first thing in the morning,
this nude scene is justified, if the curtains cannot censor
No red light hangs around here, it is time to recline
so long as skin has yet to be abolished by poly-whatever
A real shock to the city’s concert of openings,
they rally against the obscenity of me, being fun for free
Dangling promotions and special offers, all to link
my shadow to others in a civilized state of cover charges
The contact is fine, but I still decline the RSVP,
I am teaching myself to be crepuscular in this human zoo
Where there is room to roam in my plaster cage
and for company I can raise goosebumps by tune or touch
