Why was paper dried in squares?
90-degree angles arbitrarily over-determined the technology.
If paper had been dried in circles,
scrolls could have been stored in cabbage heads.
If paper had been dried in ellipses,
books could have bloomed upright, like romaine.
If paper was allowed to dry in wrinkles,
more surface area, then; fractals and kales.
