This One’s for the Birds

The birds sing
their familiar
tunes

it’s not Mozart
or
Debussy
It’s chalk and
cheese really

or maybe apples
and oranges?

You really can’t
compare the two
the birds chirps
are high and shrill

they are the direct
descendance of
theropods

in laymen’s terms

they are from a major
group that
includes the T-rex
and Velociraptor.

In a morbid sense
they have been
downscaled and demoted
further down the food chain

further down the path
of this thing called
evolution.
