Little Wing

There’s a little known
thrift & antiques store in my
current town of residents,
it’s called Little Wing, like
the old song by Jimi Hendrix.
In the universe of thrift stores,
Little Wing got a raw deal, not
because it’s located in a small
dingey strip mall, but because
it’s location is off the beaten
path.
Little Wing got a raw deal with
their location, it resides in the
back of the strip mall, out by
the rusted blue and green skip
bins and countless ravens,
vultures, and homeless people.
Everyone’s looking for something,
the birds are looking for a meal the
homeless are probably looking for
anything of value.
The patrons that are in the loop
about Little Wings location, are
looking to kill their time, maybe
they’re bored, maybe they’re trying
to find their soul in the memories
of yesterday’s items that have
become obsolete, just like we all
shall become with the slow passing
of time.
